morning thoughts

If there is someone out there who can eat grapefruit without making a huge, juicy, sticky mess, I'd like to meet you. And then endlessly inquire how you are so successful in your grapefruit-eating-endeavors. This is what I've learned (so far) while eating grapefruit: Wear glasses. Contacts and vulnerable eyes and flying citrus juice do not mix. Drink coffee before or after, not alongside of. For several reasons. Embrace the mess. It's inevitable. It really is. (Until I meet that one person, I am standing by this). I only need indulge in one half of the fruit with sugar. By the time I finish the first, my taste buds are all sorts of ready for the second. And finally, despite the labor grapefruit induces, it's my favorite winter treat. Happy Friday!

  1. UHLYTHUH! Do you cut each slice? That's what I do and it's not too big of a mess :)
